In the shadow cast by glowing neon lights, there are the poor, the sick, the helpless and the powerless. For them, each day is a day without hope; each day is a day of struggling for survival.

An emergency relief fund was initiated by the Chest in early 2004 to provide rapid responses to people who find themselves in an emergency financial crisis for which other sources of help may not be available.

With the generous support from Cheung Kong Group again, Rainbow Fund is renamed as The Community Chest "Cheung Kong" Rainbow Fund with effect from 26th May 2007.
