For the second year in a row, the Community Chest’s flagship fundraising event, Walk for Millions, had to be held virtually amid ongoing pandemic and social distancing measures. Fully supported by Bank of China (Hong Kong), this year’s the Community Chest Virtual Walk for Millions surpassed last year’s result and raised over HK$6.2 million. All funds raised will be allocated in full for family and child welfare services supported by the Chest. 

The event attracted the participation of nearly 3,500 people composed of more than 80 teams and individual participants. They were required to walk 10,000 steps between 9-23 January 2022 at any time and place in any form. And the total number of the steps recorded was over 76 million. To promote low carbon living, the Chest also organised a green challenge during the event period.

At the Community Chest Virtual Walk for Millions 2021/2022 Awards Presentation Ceremony on 28 June 2022, three co-chairmen of the Virtual Walk Organising Committee presented awards to all awardees. Among them, The Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association and Sai Kung District won the Top Fundraiser and Top Fundraising District awards, respectively. Also, the sponsor, Bank of China (Hong Kong), was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for its staunch support.

The organising committee’s chairmen and co-chairmen also congratulated all awardees and thanked everyone’s support through a short video. It is available for viewing on https://bit.ly/3chCjSU.
