Digital transformation not only makes lives easier but also helps advance philanthropy in society. As an organisation that moves with the times, the Community Chest is delighted to join forces with Tencent Charity Foundation (Tencent Foundation) to raise more funds to support those in need.

Tencent Foundation has always strived to connect and support different communities with technology. This year, Tencent Foundation’s annual 99 Giving Day is themed “Together for Good”. Through this campaign, it digitalises charitable giving, raises fund for the Chest and realises the “Together for Good” spirit. Mr Stanley Sun, the Chest’s Campaign Committee Co-Chairman, attended the 99 Giving Day Launching Ceremony on 30 August. He also took part in a roundtable discussion with representatives from other non-profit organisations and Tencent Foundation on how to build a culture of charity on the internet in Hong Kong, aiming to further local charitable work.

From 1 to 10 September 2022, Tencent Foundation will provide a 1:1 monetary match for donations made through WeChat Pay HK. All raised funds, without deduction of administrative expenses, will be allocated in full to support diverse and pertinent social welfare services provided by the Chest’s 168 member agencies for those in need in Hong Kong.

Technology has made an immensely positive impact on people’s everyday lives; the Chest would like to express its sincere gratitude to Tencent Foundation for its generosity and support.
