Founded in 1956, Maxim’s Group have spared no effort to do good deeds while striving to grow business over the years. Since 2000, Maxim’s Group have donated over HK$40 million to the Community Chest. This year, Maxim’s Group continues to uphold the spirit of giving back to the society by generously contributing HK$1 million to the Chest to support food recycling and meal assistance services.
The cheque presentation ceremony was held earlier. Representatives of Maxim’s Group presented the donation cheque to Mr Paulo Pong, Campaign Committee Chairman of the Community Chest. Maxim’s Group is committed to helping those in need in the city. It launched the Love Bread Project since 2009 and it is the first bakery chain store to kick-off bread donation. Over the years, volunteers from more than 90 social welfare organisations have collected bread from more than 250 branches of Maxim’s Cakes and Arome before closing of the business daily. The products are then donated to those in need, including grassroots families, elderly and homeless. As of today, over 5.8 million pieces of bread have been shared with the needy. Since 2013, the Group has fully supported “Kiddy Heart Canteen”, the HK-first canteen targeting underprivileged children and their families founded by the Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service. The scheme has adhered to its motto “Eat with Balance, Grow with Health” by offering $10 nutritional meal to low-income families so as to relieve their pressure on food supply. Till now, Maxim’s MX has donated more than 220,000 nutritional meals. For many years, the Group has joined hands with the Community Chest in the philanthropy journey and contribute its part to the community. Maxim’s Group will continue to make best use of the resources to help more people in need.
Mr Paulo Pong expressed his deep gratitude to Maxim’s Group for their staunch support to the Chest over the years. Since 2014, the donation from Maxim’s Group was designated to support food recycling and meal assistance services, benefiting nearly 3.5 million beneficiaries.
Maxim’s Group is a long-term supporter of the Chest. The Group made an annual donation through the Corporate and Employee Contribution Programme, while employees of the Group also showed their enthusiastic support by joining various fundraising events like Dress Causal Day.
