2023-05-02

The Community Chest of Hong Kong (the Chest) and HKEX Foundation (the Foundation) today announced that HKEX Charity Partnership Programme 2023 (the Programme) is open for applications by the member agencies of the Chest and The Hong Kong Council of Social Service from 2 to 31 May 2023.

This year, the Foundation has made a generous donation of $50 million through the Programme to help address social and environmental challenges faced by the society across four focus areas: Financial Literacy, Diversity and Inclusion, Poverty Relief, and Environmental Sustainability.

Applications will be vetted by the Chest's Admissions, Budgets and Allocations Committee, and the results will be announced in December 2023. Both the application form and guidelines can be downloaded from https://bit.ly/3LHmUdz and https://bit.ly/3LgdrIQ, respectively.

Mrs Laura M Cha, HKEX Chairman and Chairman of HKEX Foundation, said: “At HKEX, our role extends beyond global financial markets and into the communities that we operate. We are committed to supporting the prosperity of all and we are delighted to see the far-reaching, positive impact brought about by the HKEX Charity Partnership Programme over the last few years. We look forward to continuing to work with The Community Chest to launch the Programme this year, supporting more people in need and deepening our engagement with our community.”

Dr John C C Chan, Chairman of the Chest's Executive Committee, said: “We are truly grateful for HKEX Foundation's support through HKEX Charity Partnership Programme for the 4th consecutive year. We are deeply convinced that the innovative and meaningful projects we support could help to address imminent social needs and contribute to the society's sustainable development.”

Since 2020, the Foundation has supported 32 community projects through collaboration with the Chest via three rounds of special fund allocation of the Programme.
