The Community Chest Dress Casual Day 2022 Raises Over HK$21 Million Thanks to All the Participants and Supporting Organisations
2023-06-29

Thanks to the support of more than 280,000 participants from over 900 companies, government departments and schools, over HK$21 million was raised from Dress Causal Day 2022. All funds raised, without any deduction of campaign expenses, will be allocated in full to support diverse and pertinent social services provided by the Chest’s 168 member agencies.

A Cheque and Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 8 June 2023 to thank supporters with outstanding contributions. Mr KK Chan, the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region officiated at the ceremony to present the awards, in the company of Dr John Chan, Executive Committee Chairman of the Community Chest; Mr Stanley Sun, Campaign Committee Co-chairman; Mr Benny Wong, Dress Casual Day Organising Committee Chairman and Co-chairman, Ms Rose Cho.

The Chest is immensely grateful to Tencent Charity Foundation for its generous support by making an extra donation of HK$20 for every participant joining the event. As the message of “Together for Good” conveyed by the “Little Safflower”, the Foundation donated over HK5.7 million to benefit the needy in Hong Kong. The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited won the Top Fund-raiser Award for the 30th consecutive year. Hang Seng Bank and Cheung Kong Group won the Second and Third Top Fund-raiser Awards respectively. The Top Fund-raiser Awards went to Hong Kong Fire Services Department in the civil service sector; and St Paul's Convent School (Primary Section) in the educational sector.

Since its inception in 1993, Dress Casual Day has raised accumulatively over HK$520 million with more than 11 million participants. Its success wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of all participants and corporate supporters: Diamond Sponsors Hang Seng Bank and Nameson Group Limited, Silver Sponsor Shanghai Commercial Bank Limited, Mask Sponsor HEK (HK) Limited and Incentive Sponsor German Pool (Hong Kong) Limited. Deep appreciation also goes to Harbour City, Times Square and Plaza Hollywood and Media Partners ECONOMIC DIGEST and SUNDAY MORE for their full support.
