Agency Visits Ensure Effectiveness of Fund Allocation and Service Development
2023-11-10

In spite of ongoing challenges, the Community Chest has endeavoured to raise funds and fulfil its funding pledges to member agencies. All funds raised, without deduction of administrative expenses, will be allocated in full to 168 member agencies to provide pertinent services in addressing imminent social needs.

The Chest organises annual visits to member agencies to ensure that the allocated funds can make a positive impact in the community. This year, 40 visits were organised in September and October so that the Chest’s board and committee members as well as representatives of corporate donors could see for themselves the actual operations of the subvented services and gain a good understanding of the effectiveness of these services.

Mr Charles Yang, Chairman of the Admissions, Budgets & Allocations Committee, along with other board and committee members, took part in some of the visits and met with representatives of member agencies and beneficiaries. They also took part in cheque presentation ceremonies for the 2023/2024 allocations.
