The Community Chest Corporate Challenge 2024 was successfully held on 4 February at Sai Kung Pak Tam Chung Country Park after a three-year hiatus. The Half Marathon and 10K Run attracted nearly 800 runners from over 100 corporate teams to run for a charity cause and raised about HK$4.5 million for the Rehabilitation & Aftercare Services supported by the Chest.
The Community Chest Corporate Challenge was led by Mr Thomas Kwok, Dr Edward W Y Cheung and Mr Carmelo K S Lee as the event Organising Committee Co-Chairmen. Mr Kwok and Dr Cheung further supported by joining the 10K Run and Half Marathon respectively.
The Chest is deeply grateful to Sun Hung Kai Properties for its full support; other sponsors of the event included: Woo Kwan Lee & Lo, Maxim’s Group, Royal Plaza Hotel, and Kwoon Chung Bus Holdings Limited. Their generosity has allowed the Chest to put every dollar raised to charitable use without deduction of event expenses. A special thanks also goes to Co-Organiser Athletic Veterans of Hong Kong for their professional advice and assistance over the years.
In 2023/2024, The Community Chest has allocated over HK$75 million to support 117 programmes related to Rehabilitation & Aftercare Services provided by the Chest’s social welfare member agencies.
