The 2nd Community Chest Sports for Millions Raises Over HK$1.8 million for Youth Services

The 2nd Community Chest Sports for Millions was successfully held on Saturday, 16 March 2024 at Disciplined Services Sports and Recreation Club. Almost 40 teams from corporates, disciplinary forces and the Chest’s member agencies participated in four ball games competitions including badminton, table tennis, bowling and football, as well as the finale fun game. The event was able to increase mutual understanding among Chest’s stakeholders and helped build team spirit among team members, while raising over HK$1.8 million for youth services supported by the Chest. The Chest would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Bank of China (Hong Kong) (“BOCHK”) for its full support. Its generosity enables the Chest to allocate all funds raised to support youth services, without deduction of administration expenses. Special thanks also go to 80 BOCHK volunteers who provided on-site support that attributed to the smooth operation of the event.

Guests officiating at the kick-off ceremony were: Mr Siu Chak Yee, Commissioner of Police; Mr Tai Chi Yuen, Deputy Director of Immigration (Enforcement, Systems and Management); Mr Wong Kwok Hung, Kenneth, Director of International Cooperation and Corporate Services of ICAC; Mr Chan Tsz Tat, Deputy Commissioner of Customs & Excise (Management and Strategic Development); Mr Ng Chiu Kok, Deputy Commissioner of Correctional Services (Operations and Strategic Development); Mr Wong Chun Yip, Deputy Director of Fire Services (Operations); Mr Stephen Chan, Deputy Chief Executive of BOCHK; Mr Billy Kong, Executive Committee Deputy Chairman of the Community Chest; Board Members Mr Alexander Yeung and Mr Lionel Lam, joined by the Event Organising Committee.

The awards were handed out by the Guest of Honour Mr Tang Ping-keung, Secretary for Security to the Champions, 1st & 2nd runners up of the corporate and disciplinary forces category.

The Chest would like to express its appreciation to the Security Bureau for providing the Disciplined Services Sports and Recreation Club again as the venue for this event. The Chest is also grateful for the support of major sponsors: China-Hongkong Photo Products Holdings Limited, Dorsett Hospitality International Services Limited, Lan Kwai Fong Group, Saint Honore Cake Shop and Wheelock Properties.

The Chest would like to thank all the participating corporates, disciplinary forces and the Chest’s member agencies. The kick-off ceremony was officiated by representatives from the Chest, the fully supporting organization – BOCHK, and Chief representatives from disciplinary forces.

Mr Tang Ping-keung, Secretary for Security handed out the awards and took a group photo with the award-winning teams.

Mr Billy Kong, Executive Committee Deputy Chairman of the Community Chest and Event Organising Chairman Mr Stanley Sun presented a thank-you certificate to Mr Stephen Chan, Deputy Chief Executive of BOCHK.
