Press Releases
Thanks to the support of more than 270,000 participants from over 880 companies, government departments and schools, nearly HK$17 million was raised from Dress Causal Day 2023. All funds raised, without any deduction of expenses, will go towards child protection and welfare services provided by the Chest’s member agencies to offer assistance to neglected children and to increase public awareness about child abuse prevention.
A Cheque and Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 28 May 2024 to thank supporters with outstanding contributions. Mr KK Chan, the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region officiated at the ceremony and presented the awards, in the company of Mr Paulo Pong, Campaign Committee Chairman; Mr Benny Wong, Dress Casual Day Organising Committee Chairman and Co-chairman, Ms Rose Cho.
The Wharf Group won the overall Top Fund-raiser Award for the first time. Tencent and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited won the Second and Third Top Fund-raiser Awards respectively. The Top Fund-raiser Award went to Hong Kong Fire Services Department in the civil service sector; and to St Paul's Convent School (Primary Section) in the educational sector.
Since its inception in 1993, Dress Casual Day has raised accumulatively over HK$540 million with more than 11 million participants. Its success wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of all participants and corporate supporters: Diamond Sponsors Hang Seng Bank and Nameson Group Limited, Silver Sponsors Shanghai Commercial Bank Limited and Vobile Group Limited, and Incentive Sponsor German Pool (Hong Kong) Limited. Special thanks also go to Harbour City, Times Square and Plaza Hollywood, and Media Partner ECONOMIC DIGEST, Headline Daily, Jobsdb by SEEK and SUNDAY MORE for their full support.
