The Community Chest 55th Anniversary Walk for Millions (Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge - Hong Kong Link Road) was held on 7 January 2024. Over 170 walking teams formed by companies and organisations and individual walkers, totalling around 11,000 participants took part in the charity walk, and over HK$15 million was raised. The Chest would like to extend its sincere appreciation to Bank of China (Hong Kong) for its full support. All funds raised will be allocated in full, without deduction of expenses, for family and child welfare services provided by the Chest’s member agencies.
In addition to the staunch support by the participating companies and individuals, the success of the event also relied upon the tremendous support given by various government departments, organisations and uniformed groups.
To acknowledge the support of walking teams, individual walkers, sponsors and supporting organisations, the Community Chest 55th Anniversary Walk for Millions (Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge - Hong Kong Link Road) Cheque & Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 20 May. Miss Alice Mak Mei-kuen, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, officiated at the ceremony. She was joined by Mr Paulo Pong, 2023/2024 Chairman of the Campaign Committee and Walks for Millions Organising Committee to present awards and certificates of appreciation to awardees, sponsors as well as supporting government departments, organisations and groups.
The Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association won the Challenge Cup and Team Top Fund-raisers Award, and was awarded the Overall Top Fund-raiser. Individual Top Fund-raisers Award, HAD District Top Fund-raisers Award and Outstanding Walk Teams Award were also presented at the ceremony.
