Press Releases
The Community Chest has stayed true to its founding vision of gathering resources to help the less fortunate in the community. All funds raised, without any deductions of expenses, will be allocated to more than 160 member agencies in providing quality and diverse social welfare services to address imminent social needs.
The Chest has the standing practice to arrange annual visits to member agencies to facilitate mutual exchanges and to ensure the proper use of the funds. Between September and October this year, the Chest visited more than 40 member agencies to understand the actual operation of funded services and to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the services.
Dr Simon Kwok and Mr T C Chan, Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee, Mr Charles Yang, Chairman of the Admissions, Budgets & Allocations Committee, together with other board and committee members, and representatives of corporate donors, participated in some of the visits and met with representatives of member agencies and beneficiaries. During the exchanges, they gained insight into the latest developments of various services and conducted the 2024/2025 allocations cheque presentation.
