Today (19 January), over 8,000 participants from over 100 teams and individuals gathered at the Hong Kong Stadium on 19 January to take part in The Community Chest 2024/2025 Hong Kong and Kowloon Walk for Millions. The Chest expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Bank of China (Hong Kong) for its full support. Its generosity enables the Chest to allocate all funds raised, without deduction of administration expenses, to 24 member agencies that provide family and child welfare services.

The Honourable John KC Lee, The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region officiated at the starting ceremony. He was joined by Mr Sun Yu, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of Bank of China (Hong Kong); Dr Simon Kwok, Chairman of the Executive Committee; Ms Diana Cesar, Chairman of the Campaign Committee; Mr Billy Kong, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee; Mr Charles Lee, Campaign Committee Co-chairmen; Dr Pamela Chan, Chairman of the Public Relations Committee; Mr Peter Chow, Chairman of the 2024/25 Hong Kong & Kowloon Walk for Millions Organising Committee, Co-chairmen Ms Candy Liu and Mr Ivan Wong; and Mrs Alice Cheung, Director of Home Affairs. Radio Television Hong Kong, Metro Broadcast, Television Broadcasts Limited, HOY TV and Viu TV have also formed media teams to show their support.

The Chest is deeply grateful for the tremendous support given by various government departments and uniformed groups.

The walk passes through Wong Nai Chung Gap Road, Black’s Link, Aberdeen Reservoir Road and finishes at Aberdeen Country Park Visitors Centre. The total distance is approximately 10km, and it normally takes three hours to complete. Participants who finish the entire walk will receive a certificate of appreciation at the finish point.
