2025-11-23

To celebrate HKEX’s 25th anniversary, the “Community Chest HKEX Gong Run” was successfully held today, Sunday, 23 November, in the heart of Central’s financial district. The event brought together elites from the financial and business sectors and raised over HK$9.7 million for the Chest. The Chest is grateful for HKEX’s generous sponsorship and full support. All donations raised will be allocated to over 160 social welfare member agencies of the Chest to fund imminent social welfare services, without any deduction for expenses.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Mr Michael Wong, Deputy Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and accompanied by Mr Carlson Tong, Chairman; Ms Bonnie Y Chan, Chief Executive Officer; Mr Paul Chow, Group Chief Sustainability Officer of HKEX; Dr Simon Kwok, Executive Committee Chairman; Mr Billy Kong and Mr T C Chan, Deputy Chairmen of the Community Chest.

The event received support from more than 400 leaders and professionals from the financial and business sectors. About 40 special guests joined the All-Stars Challenge, a 388m individual run by special invitation. A total of 94 teams took part in the Leaders Cup, Corporate Race, and Charity Race (188m x 4 or 388m x4 relay race), showcasing sportsmanship and team spirit while helping those in need. Five athletes and celebrities teamed up with representatives from five member agencies of the Chest in the special invitation Charity Race. Today’s event manifested the meaningful collaboration of the finance and social welfare sectors in bringing positive energy to the community.
