Around 90 walking teams formed by companies and organisations and individual walkers, totalling over 7,000 participants, joined the charity walk to raise funds for family and child welfare services supported by the Chest. It enables the Chest to allocate all funds raised, without deduction of expenses, to charitable use.

Dr Cheung Kwok-kwan, Deputy Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, graced the event as Guest of Honour. He was joined by Dr Simon Kwok, Executive Committee Chairman of the Chest; Ms Diana Cesar, Campaign Committee Chairman of the Chest; Mr Stephen Chan, Deputy Chief Executive of Bank of China (Hong Kong), representative of the event sponsor; Chest’s officers including Mr Billy Kong, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee; Professor Patrick Nip, Chairman of Public Relations Committee; Mr Peter Lam, Chairman of 2025/26 New Territories Walk for Millions Organising Committee; Mr William Chung, Managing Director of Citybus Limited; Mr Michael Fong, Director of Civil Engineering and Development; and Ms Priscilla To, Director of Home Affairs.

The Chest is deeply grateful for the tremendous support rendered by Civil Engineering and Development Department and various government departments in enabling the arrangement of this special walk at the new infrastructure. In addition, the Chest expresses its sincere gratitude to Citybus Limited for sponsoring the shuttle bus services. Special thanks also go to volunteers from various government departments and uniformed groups for their immense support.

The walk started near the Shek Wu San Tsuen in Fanling North, proceeded along the newly constructed Fanling Bypass (Eastern Section), passing by the new Lung Yeuk Tau Interchange to the viaducts near Shung Him Tong, and took a return route to the finish point near the Shek Wu San Tsuen. Total distance was approximately 6 km and it took around 1.5 hours to finish the entire journey. Participants who completed the walk would receive a certificate of merit at the finish point.

The Fanling Bypass (Eastern Section) will greatly enhance the overall road network in the North. It is a significant milestone of the Northern Metropolis development.
