The Community Chest Corporate Challenge 2020 Raises HK$2.3 Million for Rehabilitation & Aftercare Services
2020-01-23
The Community Chest Corporate Challenge 2020 was successfully held on 19 January at Sai Kung Pak Tam Chung Country Park. The Half Marathon and 10KM Run attracted nearly 1,100 amateur and veteran runners from 144 corporate teams to run for a charity cause and raised about HK$2.3 million for the Rehabilitation & Aftercare Services supported by the Chest.

The event was led by: The Community Chest Corporate Challenge Organising Committee Co-Chairmen Dr Edward W Y Cheung and Mr Carmelo K S Lee; Committee Members Mr Matthew Wong, Mr Jeffrey Lau, Mr Patrick Ting, Dr Peter K W Lee, Mr Ben Li, Mr Yeung Chung-hei and Mr Morven Sze-cheong Yeung. Dr Cheung and Mr Lau further supported by joining the Half Marathon.

The Chest is deeply grateful to the event sponsors: Woo Kwan Lee & Lo, Maxim’s Group, Kwoon Chung Bus Holdings Limited and Urban Hub Company Limited. Their generosity has allowed the Chest to put every dollar raised to charitable use without deduction of administrative costs.  A special thanks also goes to Co-Organiser Athletic Veterans of Hong Kong for their professional advice and assistance over the years.

In 2019/2020, The Community Chest has allocated over HK$88 million to support Rehabilitation & Aftercare Services provided by our social welfare member agencies. The services help beneficiaries including the physically and mentally handicapped to unleash their potential through vocational training, and also help ex-offenders to re-integrate into the society.
