The Community Chest BEA Charity Golf Day 2020 Raises Over HK$2.4 Million for Mental Health Services
2020-04-27
The Community Chest BEA Charity Golf Day 2020 was successfully held on Friday 13 March, 2020 at The Hong Kong Golf Club’s Fanling Golf Course. The event attracted over 190 golfers representing 48 teams who hit the green to raise over HK$2.4 million for mental health services funded by the Chest. It was particularly encouraging to see this year’s donation 3% higher than last year’s, given the current economic sentiment.

On the event day, all players made an all-out effort in the competition, with Kam Wah winning both “Champion” and “Best Gross Award”. The First Runner-up and Second Runner-up awards went to Ryoden Development Limited and PwC respectively. Team member of Liu, Chan and Lam, Solicitors, Ms Lin Juei-lien was the only golfer who won the tournament’s “Hole-in-One” award since 2011. She received HK$100,000 free spending credit sponsored by The Bank of East Asia, Limited (“BEA”). Individual awards, including the “Longest Drive” and “Closest to the Pin” went to other outstanding golfers.

The Chest is deeply grateful to title sponsor BEA for sponsoring the event for the fifth consecutive year. Its generosity enabled the Chest to put every dollar raised towards mental health services without deduction of administrative costs. Special thanks also go to the event’s Organising Committee Chairman Mr Adrian Li; Honorary Advisor Mr Bob Chong; Committee Members Dr Caleb Chan, Mr Mark Chan, Mr T C Chan, Mr Philip Shiu-sum Choi, Mr Kenneth Lam, Ms Marina Tsang, and Ms Suzie Setsuko Wakai; and Tournament Director Mr Dean Nelson for their contributions, which made this event a success.

Heartfelt appreciation was extended to The Hong Kong Golf Club for providing a world-class venue, professional assistance, and for waiving the green fees; “Hole-in-One” Award co-sponsors BEA and Dah Chong Hong Holdings, along with all of the Putting Green, Hole, and prize and souvenir sponsors.
