The primary aim of the Samaritans is to be available at all times to offer emotional support to those passing through crisis and in imminent danger of suicide. Through listening to and befriending callers who feel that they have no one else to turn to and that no one would understand and accept them, the volunteers help to alleviate the callers’ human misery, loneliness, despair and depression.
